This is our pup Stella who just turned 1!

Stella has been the most phenomenal pup with a wonderful temperament, she is smart, and the best addition to our family. We could not be more thrilled with our experience with Lebenshunger and would recommend their GSDs to anyone who wants the best dog you can get!

When Avery and I decided to bring a German Shepherd into our home, we did our due diligence to find the right breeder for what we were looking for. As this was our first dog, we weren’t sure what to expect. Kevin and Patti were incredible, and what gave us a great feeling was the vetting they did of us as well to make sure we were ready for one of their amazing dogs. Bucky is now 3 1/2 and is everything and more that we could have wanted. Incredible intelligence, loyalty, temperament and the just the right amount of sass and mischief. He is the perfect adventure buddy and we couldn’t imagine our lives without him. We are tv beyond pleased with our decision to go with Lebenshunger German Shepherds.

Our Stuka has exceeded every expectation—we couldn’t have asked for a more playful, gentle, affectionate, and loving companion. He gets along wonderfully with everyone he meets, both people and other dogs alike. Most importantly, he brings immeasurable joy to our lives each and every day. I am truly grateful that we decided to stop by Lebenshuger “just to look at the puppies,” and ended up finding a cherished member of our family.

I had the honor of purchasing Atticus in June 2021. He is not only my best friend but to add to that he’s handsome ( he gets non stop compliments where ever we go), gentle, and when appropriate he knows when to go into ‘security guard’ mode and has an amazing receptive language. If you wish to have intelligent, sweet, beautiful German Shepherd look out further than a Lebenshunger from Kevin! After careful research of German Shepherd breeders in Maine, Kevin’s Lebenshunger gsd’s stood out. After inquiring and Seeing the beautiful German shepherds he produces we knew we had to have a Lebenshunger. We were able to get our Bowie in June 2023 and it’s the best decision we ever made. But we take amazing care of our daughter. He walks her to the school bus in the morning, waits with her until her bus comes never runs out into the street always sits until she is safely on the bus at which time he returns Home having done his job. In the afternoon, Bowie instinctively knows when the afternoon boss carrying our daughter arrives, and he asked to go outside by sitting in front of the door. Again, but he does his job by going down and waiting for his sister to get off the bus to accompany her up to the house. He is the gentle, smartest, funny, sweetest animal. Everyone stops us and asked where we got him even His veterinarian is in love with Bowie. The amount of attention Bowie gets out in public is amazing. I have become a German Shepherd snob as now I compare all the German shepherds that I see to my beautiful Bowie. If you are looking for the best German Shepherd dog, you can find look no further and get yourself one of these beautiful one of these dogs! It’ll be one of the best decisions you’ve ever made.

Since we got Hendrix in October of 2020…..we cannot say thank you enough for this wonderful boy!! He is such a great protector of our home…..yet a gentle giant and such a loyal boy! He fills our lives with so much joy every day. He truly is the best and we are so grateful he came into our lives!! Thank you!!!

We simply must send you a thousand tail wagging thank yous for blessing us with the most spectacular German Shepherd—Judah! Now two years old, he’s blossomed into a smart, gentle-hearted, and faithful companion.

Judah has an incredible sense of smell, when we play fetch in the woods, he never comes back without his toy. He can pick up on where we’re headed just from our shoes. He’s not just a pet; his sweet, loving nature makes him our couch snuggling, heart melting pride and joy.

Wherever we go, people can’t help but come say hi. He greets everyone with a laid back confidence that leaves us beaming with delight. We’ve lost count of how many times folks say, “What a beautiful, well mannered dog!”

We cannot tell you how much we love Anja Kymber (offspring of Kymber and Toro vom Fanino). She is the light of our lives, and we can’t imagine our lives without her. She loves to give kisses and meet new people. She loves the water and swims quite well (video attached). She is astute, and she has a lot of energy, which we love. Sometimes she will sit on the deck and look out onto the yard, surveying her land. We call her Mufasa when she does that.

We are also thrilled that she does not have a favorite person (between my husband and me). We were told that is what GSDs do; they “choose”, but she hasn’t. We got her a sister a couple of years ago, and they are like 2 peas in a pod. We couldn’t be prouder of Anja and how she allowed Tallulah into our home. Anja helped us ‘train’ Tully and even saved her from running into the pool by stepping in front of her.

All in all, she is amazing and we are so glad we chose Lebenshunger German Shepherds when adopting our fur baby! Thank you to you both!

I first met Kevin and Patti 22 years ago while I was living in Boston. I grew up with a German Shepherd Dog and knew that when the time came to get my own dog that I too would want a German Shepherd. I did some research that led me to find Lebenshunger Kennels and to Kevin and Patti. After speaking with them on the phone I knew that I had found the type of breeder that I was looking for. I couldn’t wait to make the 4 hour drive from Boston to pick out my very own puppy. I left there with my Bella and extremely confident in my decision in selecting Lebenshunger breeders. Patti and Kevin have always made themselves available for questions, concerns, and all things German Shepherd related. Bella was the absolute best dog and over the past 22 years I have come to own a total of 3 Lebenshunger dogs. Each with their own distinct personality but one thing that has remained constant is how absolutely stunning and devoted to their family they all have been. Exceptionally smart, very loyal, and the biggest babies of the family. Each dog that I have gotten has come at a different phase of my life. Bella was the first when I was a single woman living in Boston. Elsa came next once I was married and had 2 young daughters at home. She grew up with them and they with her. Now we are 18 months into our 3rd Lebenshunger Stella and my oldest daughter will be heading to college next year. So grateful for the love and companionship that each and every one of them has provided to me and my family. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for a German Shepherd. If you want the best in temperament, quality, beauty, and loyalty you get a Lebenshunger.

We took home our pup, Moose, November of 2020 and since then our lives have been so fulfilled. He is sweet and affectionate yet protective when he needs to be. We are so thankful for Kevin and the Lebenshunger team for bringing this dog to us, he is a constant source of joy and amusement; he’s made us more active and much more appreciative of the smaller everyday moments. If you are on the fence about getting a GSD know that with the right training and guidance these will be the greatest dogs you’ll ever own.

There are no words to describe our love and adoration of our Lebenshunger baby, Heinz. He is intuitive, kind, gentle, smart, and so loving. With a toddler at home we were nervous to add a shepherd to our family, and we were diligent in screening potential breeders. After meeting all of the parents and current litters at Lebenshunger, our minds were put at ease. Each and every dog we met was polite and gentle with our daughter. We found the most perfect fit for our family, and we couldn’t be more pleased with our beloved boy. Hi Kevin and Patty! Thanks again for our beautiful Ruger. We love him so much. He’s our fur baby, protector, and best friend. I was hesitant with a German Shepherd around the kids because of the bad rep they get in the media, but Kevin was right… The Lebenshunger purebred German Shepherd dogs are the truly THE BEST thoughtfully bred dog you will ever get.
